India stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Auto, Banking and Real Estate sectors led shares lower. At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 lost 1.41%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index fell 1.

The trends on Gift Nifty also indicate a negative start for the Indian benchmark index. The Gift Nifty was trading around 26,305 level, a discount of nearly 40 points from the Nifty futures’ previous close.

A combination of global uncertainties and domestic profit booking has led to the recent stock market decline. Most stocks are trading in red.
