Russia on Sunday launched a massive drone and missile attack on Ukraine, described by officials as the largest over the past months, targeting energy infrastructure and killing civilians. The attack came as fears are mounting about Moscow’s intentions to devastate Ukraine's power generation capacity ahead of the cold winter.

Missile and drone strikes hit regions across the country, including Kyiv, Lviv, and Mykolaiv, where two rail workers and other civilians lost their lives. Power outages were reported nationwide, the first major energy disruption this winter.

A drone "crashed" at an unspecified factory workshop in the city of Izhevsk, Regional Governor Alexander Brechalov said on Sunday.

The attack came as fears are mounting about Moscow’s intentions to devastate Ukraine’s energy capacity before winter.
