“The Wild Robot” took the top spot at the box office and exceeded many projections for its debut weekend, multiple outlets reported Sunday, as Francis Ford Coppola’s self-financed “Megalopolis” flopped.

Worldwide, the long-awaited sequel to Beetlejuice has made $373.3 million. Its getting closer and closer to entering the Top 10 for the year, but if it's going to do that, it's going to need to complete its theatrical run with earnings north of $400 million.

Francis Ford Coppola's $120 million passion project only cleared $4 million in its domestic debut after receiving the disastrous audience score and divided reviews.
