The Carolina Panthers had their chances against the Cincinnati Bengals at home today, but they just weren't able to take advantage of enough of them. Carolina has lost its fourth game of the season by a score of 34-24,

Johnson told reporters that his absence from Thursday’s practice, a particularly rainy one, was a precautionary measure. He’s coming off a career day in the Panthers’ 36-22 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders, where he recorded eight catches for 122 yards and a touchdown.

In their Week 4 matchup on Sunday at 1:00 PM ET, WR Diontae Johnson and the Carolina Panthers match up with the Cincinnati Bengals, who own the eighth-ranked pass D in the NFL (168.3 receiving yards allowed per game).

However, a few things have become abundantly clear since Andy Dalton took over for Bryce Young at quarterback for the Carolina Panthers. For one thing, this offense is far more efficient and explosive with Dalton running the show.

Today’s practice was a wet one at the practice fields outside of Bank of America Stadium, as the Panthers were forced to work through a bit of rain on the afternoon. And that was enough keep out Diontae Johnson, who popped up on Thursday’s injury report with a groin issue.

The Panthers added receiver Diontae Johnson to their injury report on Thursday. Johnson did not participate in the day’s session with a groin issue. But the team noted that Johnson is expected to practice on Friday, which is a good sign for his potential availability in Week 4.

Diontae Johnson posted one of the best games of his NFL career in Week 3, but the veteran wideout was limited heading into the Carolina Panthers’ Week 4 game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Johnson went down early in the third quarter of Sunday’s contest.
